About this Map
Incredibly detailed yet artful map of Shell Lake: a large, deep lake in Washburn County, with the City of Shell Lake situated along its western shore. The lake has a broad, open main basin reaching depths of more than 35 feet, with shallower water and more varied contours around its southern end. Several small islands, points, and protected bays add character to the southern shoreline, while much of the eastern and northern shore is more gently curved and developed. The map shows lake depths, underwater contours, surrounding roads and communities, and the relationship between Shell Lake and the smaller lakes and wetlands nearby.
