About this Map
This carefully drawn, artful map of Nagawicka Lake combines detailed bathymetry with the surrounding streets, neighborhoods, parks, wetlands, buildings, and shoreline features that give the lake its distinctive setting. Depth contours trace the transition from relatively shallow northern waters into the lake’s much deeper southern basin, where the mapped deepest point reaches approximately 90 feet. The cartography also captures Nagawicka’s long, narrow form, irregular shoreline, small islands, bays, boat ramps, and the dense pattern of development surrounding this 981-acre lake.
Nagawicka Lake sits directly alongside the City of Delafield, whose historic street grid and downtown area appear at the lake’s southwestern end. Naga-Waukee Park occupies a substantial green area along the southeastern shore, while the Ice Age National Scenic Trail passes near the lake’s southern end. The Village of Nashotah appears to the northwest, and the map also shows numerous smaller neighborhood landmarks, shoreline parks, yacht club, schools, churches, wetlands, and connecting waterways. Together these details place the lake firmly within the richly developed but still surprisingly green lake country landscape of western Waukesha County.
