About this Map
Little Muskego Lake sits at the center of a densely settled landscape, yet its irregular shoreline, islands, bays, and varied depths give the lake a distinctive geographic character of its own. Carefully drawn bathymetric contours reveal a surprisingly complex lake bottom, including several deep basins, steep breaks, and broad shallower areas around the shoreline. The artful cartography balances this underwater detail with streets, individual buildings, parks, waterways, and shoreline development, capturing both the lake and the community that surrounds it.
The surrounding landmarks are an important part of the story. Idle Isle Park occupies a prominent peninsula at the lakeβs north end, while Lions Park lies near the southwestern shore and several public boat ramps provide access around the lake. The map also follows Muskego Creek northward through the surrounding neighborhoods and shows the remarkably close relationship between Little Muskego Lake and the City of Muskego, where the lake is woven directly into the fabric of the community.
